Hi to all,
My name is Steve - obviously. I am 47 live in Coventry.
When I was 13 my late Uncle who was a professional artist and excellent photographer gave me an old SLR and a couple of lenses. I spent every waking moment reading about photography. Whenever I was able I'd blag some (mostly) B&W film from him and take as many photos as I could. We would then develop them in his darkroom. He passed away and my passion went with him, it just wasn't the same anymore.
The passion in my life now, and has been for 30 years is Motorcycles, they have taken me to some amazing places, but the photos I come back with are average at best. I decided to have another crack at photography. It didn't take long to rekindle the old flame and after some grovelling to my understanding wife I managed to buy a nice Canon D40 with the 24 - 135 kit lens.
I have managed to get it off AUTO and am having great fun experimenting.
Learned so much already reading through the threads on here. Once I am brave enough I'll stick a few of my below average shots up for critique.
I have a beautiful wife, who HATES having her photo taken, it really is a phobia with her. My ambition is to get her in front of my lens!
