Hey,

Hows everyone doin?

Anyway, I just registered and am having a read through some random threads, this forum looks pretty coolio.

A few completely random questions:

Does anyone know how to get hold of Press-Passes for big festivals such as Benicassim (I went there last year with my trusty little compact, a Canon IXUS 65 and got a few half-descent snaps concidering it cost me lik £150 and, well, I was in the crowd of lik 35,000 so it's pretty hard to get good photos with a compact).

Benicassim is pretty strict about SLRs, my friend had her 350D with here and they refused entry, she had to check it in.

I was thinking of smuggling it in a bag (make a secrect compartment or something in the bottom) or trying to get hold of a press-pass somehow. I actually have a friend I went to primary school with whos in a band that played at Benicassim I think...perhaps I could get one through him?

Oh and for those who don't know what the Benicassim festival is: http://www.fiberfib.com

I just bought a Canon Ultrasonic 28-135mm lens for my DSLR (I have a 400D, well, Rebel XTi but they are the same) and am now looking for a UV filter. I'v heard B+W are the best, but am having trouble getting hold of one for a descent price (I don't want anything shipped in from Hong Kong). Are Hoya filters any good? They appear to be more avalible here...

Anyway...just a few random qustions.

Nice to meet you all! :)

Welcome,

Generally you'll need to be accredited to a magazine, newspaper, etc. to get a pass for an event like this - ie you apply to the event press office and say who you're shooting for and there's no easy way to blag your way around it :(

Hoya filters are fine, they do different grades with the Pro ones being the best. Try to buy the best if you can afford it.
