Hi all! The development of my photography goes like this...
have always enjoyed taking pictures and always had a camera. A couple of years ago I downloaded a program onto my Mac that made photos look like Polaroids. I thought the images had a certain quality to them and so I got hold of a Polaroid camera. My interest in Polaroid photography arose at about the same time shops stopped stocking the film. However I had re-discovered the taste for analogue / film photography and spent two years on eBay and at car boot sales building up a collection of old cameras. It's not a cheap hobby however and I am a full time student, and that's part of the reason that in recent months I have put more effort into 'phoneography' and have about 20 apps on my iPhone for processing images. I have come to a point where with the iPhone I am now less interested in 'faux vintage' shots and more experimental, pushing images very hard through all sorts of processes (such as my avatar). With the film cameras I try and get the most out of the subtle qualities of film, and so use it more for landscapes, portraits and still life shots.
I hope my iPhone experience means I can help others, I also used to work for Apple and am something of a geek
And at the same time I might be looking here to make sense of the dials and settings on my hefty 70s Russian Zenit-E SLR :shrug:
