Might not be everybody's cup of tea but a good chilled out film esp if you like the music of Eddie Vedder.

After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

Watched the film and purchased the CD soundtrack ,I had read a few books before seeing the film version, I have mixed views on the end but as a film its worth watching then going on to read a bit a more about him ...

Trying avoid a spoiler although it's a few years old now.

The ending - in a documentary I saw - from memory there was nothing in his system that could have had that effect on a normal person.

Time may well have accounted for that.

Only seeing this now, would have watched again. Pearl Jam are my favourite band, so Ed Ved doing the ST caught my attention when it first came out. Had no idea what it was about. It's a simple film, but draws you in somehow. Don't we all just want to get away from it all at times? :)
