hi I just purchased a Sony nex 5. I was looking at the Intervalometers on eBay but could not find one with a mini USB lead. If I was to purchase a separate adapter would the Intervalometer work. I've seen the basic ir remote but I really need the camera to be set at intervals as this camera will be used for self takes when fishing..

Hi - I have the 5N which is roughly the same. The USB connection is for transferring files etc - AFAIK you cannot set up a wired connection for the shutter control.
This has to be done by IR remote control (approx £2). You can DIY mod this and add a timer (http://www.getdpi.com/forum/sony/35299-timelapse-timer-nex5-nex7.html#post396631) or pay £40 odd for a Tempus intervalometer from the States.
