Yes
Recently bought something over the net, (pair of trainers, bad idea) anyway, surprise surprise they didn't fit. After much umming and ah-ing trying to convince myself they might be ok (Not worn outside at all at any time, basically still pristine) I decided to return them as advised on their website.
The rule being, "must be returned within two weeks of receipt"
I received them on Friday 30 Oct and sent them back via parcelfarce today(have a proof of sending receipt and insured delivery etc). To my mind therefore I have returned them within two weeks. (I'd have til Friday.)

However the parcel farce service is a 48 hour thing and I missed todays pick up, so they will be "in the system" from tomorrow and will arrive probably Saturday or Monday.

So am I okay to give them merry hell if they start quibbling next week saying I didnt return within 2 weeks?

Thanks

Sorry to state the obvious but why not email or call and ask them?

It's okay by me but whether it's okay by them is a different issue ... if as you say

You can only try!

Because like me we always have to post it on here, and then have a big debate what we should and should not have done. Way much more fun doing it this way :D

Must be returned within 2 weeks. If they don't arrive by Friday then you've failed. You've dithered for 10 days. Get to PO today and send them first class tracked. They should arrive tomorrow.

Look at it another way.
You order something online on next day delivery. ...within the cut off time. It's Monday.
Your package turns up on Friday.
You call them and they say "well we sent it out on Monday. ..not our fault".

A fortnight is acres of time to get something returned.
You might get lucky, but I don't really think you can complain if you don't :-)

Should have sent it earlier, should not have waited until the last minute.
There sorted :)

So if they get it and decide its outside the 2 weeks, presumably they'll decide they cant accept the shoes and then send them back to me. Hopefully the parcel farce 48 hours is a worst case and they'll get there for Friday.

I've emailed them today and told them I've returned them also.

Plus I could always say I reveived them on the monday (2nd Nov), they've no way of proving otherwise as I didnt have to sign anything and wasn't even in.

In terms of the law you have 14 days to tell them you want to return the item. You them have a further 14 days to actually return it.

Your right to cancel

Your right to cancel an order for goods starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods.

This 14 day period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to actually send the goods back.
