This is a complete guess as to the cause...but after the storms a couple of days ago our internet went down and it looks like it was due to a hit of lightning.
All electric items in the house are OK apart from the red squared items below.
Is it odd that whatever the surge was went straight through the Home Hub and only killed the first two switch type things it encoutered?
The second 5 port switch is fine, as is the hub and all the devices. Wifi is also working as normal.
The two damaged items are not located in the same room, so I'm guessing the surge was confined to the internet cables? Did it strike the phone line or was it strictly a power cable thing?

A bit of an annoyance as now I need to shell out for new powerline adapters and another switch.
Neither will turn on / light-up.
Anyone else encounter this last week?
