Is it possible to take a portion of bandwidth from my internet and set it aside just for my use ........and then everyone rules can use what is left...... thanks in advance

If your router has qos (quality of service) or other bandwidth management yes.
Thanks mate....will have a look when I get home.....feed up with others hogging the bandwidth......namely customers letting their kids watch YouTube while waiting for the parents....

MAC lock it down so only you can use it :D:D

Cant totally lock it as My clients new access to send images etc to their bosses etc.... also when my kids are with us they hog a lot of it.....

How do you find out if your router can do quality of service?

It's not really QoS as such as this would normally dictate the type of traffic that is prioritized. Essentially you are looking for bandwidth management on a per device basis, the only consumer level routers I have seen with this capability are Draytek's Vigor series.
