Although I am no expert, I use Firefox and have had no problems with it.

Between the two I wonder which is the most popular on this forum.

I made my decision to use FF because I was told by an expert it was safer than IE.

Not a great choice. Of the two, I would use IE but I much prefer Safari.

Just moved over to FF after getting increasingly fed up with the flakieness of IE..so far so stable:D

firefox convert here, much better than IE

Firefox.
Or Safari if you like it.

But never ever ever ever ever ever ever IE.

Ever.

Firefox here as well. No problems.

Used to use IE - crash central!
Used to use FF - no complaints!

Now using Google Chrome, and actually enjoying the simplicity of it. So i'm gonna stick with it for a while and see how things pan out... :)

it was too simplistic for me, however want to use chrome on the lappy but not out for osx yet.

i got fed up of IE crashing every few pages, or every other time I look at an embedded vid, or, every... well you get the picture
Firefox now.

Yip... FF here too but used to do I.E in the past.

The Fox has it...

:D

Been using Firefox for years now, can't say I miss IE at all.

well..

until i started to use joomla on a website i usedd IE happily, then joomla came into my life, its standards compliant, thats NORMAL internet standards, not Microsofts bizarre ideas standards, anyway, joomla and IE dont work well together, so i started using firefox and havent used IE since, i tried the latest version of IE, the beta for 8, and i have to say its awful. NOTHING works properly on it, you have to enable compatibility mode to get websites to show properly, and even then half of them are left aligned. Seriously Microsoft, there are STANDARDS ALREADY....WE DO NOT NEED MORE FROM YOU FOOLS!!!!!!!!

Now OperaSafari? do me a favour...load of old poo. firefox on the mac, iphone has it, which is like putting a big brown poo stain on a nice white silk bedsheet

Well I started when it was this:

and have stuck with it until :

Never have liked firefox - its plug in facility is good and its download handling far superior to IE but I hate its slowness and truth be told it isn't really any more secure than IE. I also hate how long it takes to start up.

Currently using google chrome. I really like it and find it much faster than both the above. Just been to the US ESTA site and it didn't work though, which is odd.

no problems with firefox here at all, i have 4 joomla sites in development and none of them have FF issues, ive had to find workarounds for some IE problems though, which is a right PITA. Not used Opera, and dont intend to!

A lot of those links with Firefox are server settings, or joomla options that need ticking, sometimes its the old version of joomla with bugs, also a couple of those are old problems, 2006? 2007? trust me, from a lot of use, firefox works better with joomla..

I happen to use IE most of hte time just out of habit, but I quite like some of the features on Chrome.

If any of you are stuck with IE at work and want to use firefox, get this and put it on a USB drive:

http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

Also if you design/use a site and aren't sure whether it'll work in certain browsers, check out the awe-inspiring http://browsershots.org/ .

The reason I find IE intolerable is, as Matty points out, the standards it uses. Essentially, Microsoft and Netscape developed different internet standards during the "Browser Wars" of the 90s. Sounds a lot more interesting than it actually is. The upshot is that every web developer has to "break" their site design in certain ways to get it to display properly in IE. It's quite literally infuriating.

The Fox, The Whole Fox, and nothing but the Fox.

I love firefox. End of.

:)

Let's talk about add-ons. I couldn't live without them.

Currently I use:

Foxmarks: synchronises my bookmarks between computers automagically.
Scrapbook: rip webpages (useful for saving e-tickets etc)
Greasemonkey: bits of javascript to make browsing easier (resize youtube videos etc)
Dev toolbar: essential for making websites
Firebug: see above
Torbutton: anonymous browsing at the click of a button.
