Want to become a better photographer?
Willing to invest one day?

Join thousands of others in a photo project that will test your endurance and challenge your creativity, teach you a lot, and be great fun.

Here's the assignment:
Shoot one photo every five minutes all day long on Sunday, January 21, 2007.

Photograph whatever you want! However you want!

You get eight hours off for sleeping, and one hour for personal business. The rest of the time it's... Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!
That's 15 hours and at least 225 photos

You then email your best 5 to them, but I'm thinking we could have a thread here with our best 5 in. I'm thinking my blog post next week will be a slideshow of my day. Of course I'll have to do something that day or it will just be 225 pictures of me chatting on IRC ;)

thats a great idea pete. a thread of everyones best 5 images would be cool. what better reason to get our cameras out :)

Haha not at 5fps :P One photo every five minutes.

you could join them all up in a movie like a time lapsed one, could look quite interesting! ;)

But Ian, if you do that, may be you fall as sleep a couple of hours later of clic every 5. hehe

I think it's an intresting but very complicated thing to achive. Lot's of things could happen during the day that make you interrupt the shooting.

ok... so next sunday? :tumbleweed:

I guess the idea is to shoot the interuption

I tried it with 5-6 shots I took on new years day, waves crashing on some groynes on cromer beach... its was rather an INCREDIBLY short film!

dont know if i hav ethe will power to do that....having trouble getting camera out of bad let alone shooting with it!

Wont be able to manage this, working for eight hours of the day, and cant take photos at work, then will need to sleep after working all night. but look forward to seeing others efforts. :)

Tbh, Im like Matty, Ive really struggled with motivation these last few months. I will try & give it a go, maybe the kick up the butt I need!

Interval Timer

The Interval Timer can be set to any time period up to 100 hours as well. If you set it to 10 minutes, for example, one exposure will be taken every 10 minutes until either the film runs out or the Exposure Count limit has been reached.

Rofl! I believe you Matty ... of course I dont think for one second that the real reason is due to such things like pointy long fingernails getting in the way, as in my case

on my right hand yes a couple of oversized nails...

I like the idea but I can imagine me getting all ar$ey when I want to continue doing something else....I'll have a word with Baz....it could be fun....maybe we'll go out somewhere and walk and talk and walk and click and talk and walk and.........

Nuts. I hardly slept last night and I'm currently ill. My 225 photos could be of me in bed coughing.... oh yey.

I might just do this but not on THE day... as I dont think i'll get the time at work!

This could be fun, got stuff to do on Sunday, but might try and do this.

P.S Hope you feel better soon Pete :(

so who is doing this then and whos photos can I look forward to seeing some of.

If I'm well enough, you can expect something from me next week. Just processing 225 photos by the next day with a slideshow might not be possible :)

Quick bump for this! I'm going to have a go - I can see it being very tiring (especially as I'm going to be out the house by 7am on a Sunday) but I may get some good shots.

Weather is set to be clear and cold for London tomorrow morning - should help with my first idea...

Good luck guys :) I'm still too ill to spend 15 hrs out shooting :( Gunna have to do this another day.

I aint feeling well either so I have not attempted this :( Was looking forward to it too.

Gawd! what are we all like.... blimmin lepers the lot of us
I cant shake this bug off either, but Ive taken a few snaps around the house in an attempt to take part.
The sun is shinining so Im going to wrap up & venture out for a bit, Im just keeping the 50mm on and taking a good supply of tissues!

Well I lasted until 4pm ish before flaking out! 10 hours, 150-ish shots, many many miles walked... Feet hurt too much to carry on and the sunset view from Primrose Hill was disappointing enough to make me quit!

Still, I think I gotsome good shots - I may process a couple this evening which I'll post later
