Some beautiful stuff here, Chatsworth House in the mist and Harewood House do it for me.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-35476291

The winning shot though (of the robin), my immediate thought was 'what's with the strong halo effect around the robin?'

Is that natural due to the strong backlight, or a side-effect of processing?

I was looking at the winners on the BBC site and too thought that there are some stunning images in the competition. I also wondered how big a garden picture has too be before it becomes landscape?

There are some absolute stunners on there for sure; however, the shot of Chatsworth isn't one of them. FAR too much shadow recovery imo, especially on the house itself. It looks very unnatural.

How are some of these gardens? LOL Since when has Yosemite been a "garden"? ****ing ridiculous competition.

The only one that does anything for me is the white sands image... the rest are just the usual over processed amateur landscape crap.
