The Glorious Soviet Camera I used :
A Zenith E which was given to me by a woman staff photographer of the Yellow Advertiser newspaper. It has:58mm f2 Helios-44-2 lens, which may be a later model than the one on the Zenith B,shutter 1/30-1/500th, X flash synch at 1/30th, delayed action and a Selenium cell exposure meter.

Love this thread Pete. Very journalistic...

The Zenith E and the 58mm f2 was my first SLR kit, built by Russians from spare tank parts I believe.

I have a Zenith 11 looks just like an all black 'E' bomb proof camera.

Ahhh the Zenit E my first SLR back in the late 1970's.
As others said built from tank parts, but was the love of my life for a couple of years.

Some great shots there.

It was my first SLR too, it was a dreadful unreliable piece of junk that I replaced with a Practika Super TL.

I was given THREE Prakticas that were going to the Council Tip by a former Councillor as he was disposing of stuff from a widow then he remembered that I like 'Old Film Cameras' and I rushed there and got a Super TL, LLC, LB and gave the Super TL to a beginner at my Club.

I replaced mine with the small and beautifully formed Olympus OM1n

The TL wasn't to bad but was sold to MrCad when a Neighbor kindly gave me a Nikkormat Ftn I no longer have that camera but do still have the 50mm F2 from it which I even got Ai'd by Fixation back in about 1988.

Gave the Helios lens away along with a Pentax K1000 a couple of years ago to someone wanting to experiment with B&W film.

Very good set Peter and yes your Jupiter 9 was a great bargain.(y)
