I am looking to buy my first lighting setup and am looking at Interfit kits (either the EX150 or EXD200 or the INT428). I would appreciate any comments that you have on these kits, and any issues that you may have run into with them.

I intend to use them to set up a small home studio in my family room taking mainly shots of people, including some low light stuff.
 
I lookied at the twin 150 kit in Jessops, and have to say it felt cheap for what the price was.. Also inconsistancy with colour temps if using at different temperatures.

If you have a look at the Lencarta Smartflash, (recommended to me, when I was looking at mains lights.) The build quality is excellent (Especially in the tactile areas like switches and power output controls) and they take the Bowens S-fit attachments...

www.lencarta.com Worth spending a little more as you will out grow your lights very quickly, so it will be money wasted..
 
interfit 150's arent bad as a starter kit.
we still have a set in our studio that get occasional use, and wifey used to do home portraits with em. had several years hammer, and have just started getting tempremental.
good for the money.
only prob is, only softboxes and lightshapers specificaly for the EX range will fit them.
nobody elses.
if you buy Stellars, a lot of other peoples will fit.
we have 600 stellars too, and they have been faultless.
we also have Lencarta , and they have probably been the best VFM of all our studio lighting kit. kit.
 
I'm taking delivery of the int160 kit in the morning (twin shoot through umbrellas) for a rented garage studio set up. I hope to give you a better review in 14 hours! :)
 
Lencarta Smartflash is the best value entry level studio flash, see link above.
 
Bought my EX150 kit over a year ago, and have not had any colour issues. Just used in my shed-studio, so not worked hard. But if I was buying now, would buy something with a more universal fitting - bowens etc.
But cant fault them for the price I paid!
 
Thanks for all the advice guys. I live in New Zealand and unfortunately Lencarta is not available here. The cheap Interfits's which sell in the UK for less that two hundred quid sell her for over a thousand dollars.

When I looked through the range I discovered that I could buy an Elinchrome kit for not much more that the Interfits that I was conseidering so I am going to get that.
