Interesting way to shoot a tall building or tower

In a similar vein, if you can get access to the top (or near) of the building, you can shoot a series of shots looking either down at the ground with the base of the building in frame or looking out at the horizon. Either set could then be either processed as a video (as in the linked video) or (in the case of the horizon shots) as a panorama, although it may need a few "standard" panoramic prints to get the full 360° in.

Looks very interesting but not easy.

Interesting watch, thanks for sharing. Think pulling this off well would require a lot of attention to detail.

That looks really interesting but difficult! would require a lot of hard work !

I emailed the Shard and asked if i could take some photo's from the top and they said that i couldn't, but only from the viewing gallery which is......behind glass :( and some 100+ floors down.

Might be worth finding out when the Shard's windows get cleaned and shoot through them (polariser would help if the lens is fast enough or a tripod is an option?) with a UWA. In that case, I would suggest just 4 shots (assuming a lens with a 90° horizontal FoV) at the cardinal compass points. A slightly longer lens might make 8 shots a better bet.

Thanks for sharing.... I have a local tower in mind so I may just give this a try. Just the inspiration I needed
