Interesting thought.........

When I was in the Scouts (in about 1485) I was pushed into a swimming pool when I couldn't swim and whilst struggling in the water, I could clearly see my parents, who weren't at the campsite at all, urging me to get across the pool.

I joined the Guides soon after...

I have done stage work with the likes of Thunder, Whitesnake, Eric Clapton, Texas, The Fall, Beverly Cravan, ZZ Top, Chris de Burgh and many many others.

I've also worked at GCHQ during the first gulf war and spent a lot of my time being flown betweeen RAF bases. and lastly I played pro Ice Hockey for a couple of years till I broke my ankle in loads of places :)

There’s one outside... its not yours though, it still has a roof.

Fact #2 for me.

Don't assume a big wood mallet is actually heavy, miscalculations can lead to you smashing yourself in the face with it when you first pick it up.

  • Did 67 days sailing in the year before I got engaged - I have done no sailing since I got married.
  • Met my wife at the photocopier in our office
  • Am in month 14 of a planned 6'ish month 'rest from work'
  • Have travelled in the same taxi that took Charles and Di around Barra
  • Have been on the worlds shortest scheduled air crossing between Westray and Papa Westray several times

Some great people that I have met - Margaret Thatcher, Prince Phil, Peter Osgood.

When living on a farm when v young I used to love clotted cream sandwiches :)

Blimey, it only takes most people a couple of hours!

[edit]Er... congrats on doing it for a very worthy cause, though.

When I found out I may be being made redundant from my last work, one evening I sneaked into the directors offices and left a kippers in the fake ceiling of the management I found particularly offensive (Owner of the company, Sales Director and Health & Safety Director).

LOL. Reminds me of 1st place I worked, when working nights found an Execs office & desk was open....found a postcard in his desk from his obvious mistress stating she couldn't wait to play with his lighthouse again

AHHHHH, just remembered somehting I try to forget. About 18 years ago as a computer operator of a large Building Society I accidentaly ran the wrong program at the end of a Business day & wiped the whole days transactions for the whole Society !!!! It took 1 month of O/T by all branches to retype all data back in. Thought I'd lose my job that day ;)

The things i have made have been seen on TV but they are normally installed in recording studios and the like...

Just thought I'd drop another one into the mix........

My user name is so because my so called mates happen to think I look like Ben Kingsley, only less handsome.

I've never worn a lungi (sp?) or had anything to do with the overthrowing of the Raj!

you can have the best equipement in the world in the studios, but if the sound within it is crap, your on a loser..

My Dad's Cousin (my 2nd cousin I think) was Sir Alf Ramsey. Never met him though.

indeed. Acoustic Treatments including Diffusors and Bass traps, but specifically diffusors, ive laquered and made a few that have been on telly behind people on things like X factor, lol! anything filmed in Soho is 99% likely to have been made by us, clients include Peter Gabriels Real World Studios, BBC Maida Vale and Chris Tarrent(no, really) :) not really interesting though was it. lol

Hmmm, what can I say about me....

I've been stabbed, shot and ran over as a teenager (now that was a crap day, lol)

My chatup live to my soon-to-be wife was "I may be little down there, but I can lick my own eyebrows" (yeah I'm an old romantic)

I hate bad manners.

my father has not spoken to me for 7 years, even though he lives less than half a mile from me.

oh that's sad Boon......life's too short and all that....go and see him...

I used to play a fair bit of football until the day I accepted a game for a pub team. Got my cheekbone and eye socket smashed and had to get my face peeled off to rebuild them. You can feel the screws under the right eye

I know how you feel Boon. I had a sister I didnt' speak too for a few years as well. Then decided one day life is too short yes, I'm better for it. Marianne's right, go see your dad before it's too late. It's just so not worth it. :)

can I add that my sister simply won't talk to me....every now and then I try to sort things out but she can't hack it for long and stops talking to me, it breaks my heart, upsets my Mum but my sister sure is an odd bod. The way I see it is this, if she needs me I will run to her, I come from a close family so I get to know of stuff more or less as soon as it happens.....

Mate, that’s too long. :(

I've Been their myself and if I may suggest, YOU must be the bigger man.

Do it soon, before you regret not doing it... for the rest of your life.

I'll echo those comments.

I went for years at a time without speaking to my Dad.
I bit the bullet and made the peace about a year before he died and it was the best year we ever had.
I would have had nothing but sadness and regrets if I hadn't.

What I do have now is contentment, peace of mind and fond memories.

We were the same, pretty close too until **** hit the fan,lol I come from a family of three girls and a baby brother. I think ya just have to stop trying to 'sort' things out and just let it be water under the bridge. Like they say, there is no truth, only interpretation right? We all want our feelings validated. Life is just too short!!! :D

Cheers,

guess what Jules, I am the third daughter and have a younger brother....its my sister that is two years older than me that is the difficult one of the family, we were so very close but as I grew older and less dependant on her she grew more angry, she is like it to a certain extent with the rest of the family, which is reassuring in a way cos its not just directed at me although I get the brunt of her peculiarities....we just get on with our lifes now but it still makes me sad that she won't let me in any more.
