interesting gadget

I used to use a painkiller/pill bottle (white) or a 35mm film container (opaque type) with the bottoms cut off and a slit down the side. Works just as well but free(ish)

I believe a lid from certain flavour of pringles also acts in the same way (Plain/salted I believe)

big problem with the pringles idea...im on a diet, and once you pop you just cant stop lol

I suppose I could get the kids to have a tube :)

ceratinly worth a try, thanks for that

Oh that is certainly true. They are dangerously addictive. Very very much so.

this may just be my imagination of course, but were you by any chance eating pringles when you posted that?

I really did picture that as
They are dangerously "crunch" addictive. Very "munch" Very much so

 **wonders how marcel fixes the pringles lid in front of the flash, especially with greasy fingers**

The diffuser does look like a good idea at a reasonable price, and I seem to recall seeing on ebay last week a 'mitten' diffuser for onboards that was even cheaper....though they can't be that good, I can't find them now :bonk:

I am going with Ghandis split bottle idea though, coz the boss still won't let me have the credit card back

i just made something similiar myself at work, with a cardboard box and some grease proof paper, it does work to a degree but these things probably look a little bit more profesional i guess.

yeah i know, i shoudl spend more time at work....working lol

When I had my Canon G3, I used to get a mansize tissue, 3 ply, and take it apart to use 1 or 2 of the thin sheets to cover the flash to diffuse it. Worked a treat.

Although watch for a colour flash if the good lady of the house buys pretty pink ones or yellow ones :p

I use a lumiquest soft box for my off camera flashes and it is excellent. I'm not sure what use this would be as the output on a pop up is quite low and the lumiquest box takes almost a full stop off exposure. You may be better off with the tissue paper / rizla idea.....

i tried that but they kept falling off - it wasnt sticky enough

maybe supplement the glue with tape. i never had problems with my rizla not sticking tho. i reckon your getting it to wet lol dont slobber so much, just a slight lick will suffice.....:D

i use micropore tape - 99p a roll from Superdrug

and you can also use it for securing your stofens on your speedlite

:D I went for this option as well, didn't have to fiddle around with sticking the grease proof paper to the camera and worked just as well.

heeheehee - well i asked a friend if i could borrow a few rizlas, i dont smoke so i'm skilled in the art of making rollies

so for me micropore is much more convenient :)
