I'm editing a recent wedding and did quite a few shots wide open on my 85mm 1.2.
Now this often produces quite a bit of purple fringing which I can quite easily remove in LR5 using the Purple Defringe slider.

However... it seems to react with the colour of the bride's lipstick, meaning that when I defringe, her lips turn grey.

Anybody encountered this problem before or any suggestions to fix?

Try the defringe slider in the adjustment brush. It is designed to eliviate the type of problem you describe.

Actually, what works even better than manually defringing everything using the brush, is using the bulk defringing, then adding negative defringing just to the bride's lips :)

Actually I just came back to this thread to amplify my suggestion to say that it' s designed to reverse the effects of global defringing - but you found found it out for yourself!
