Spent the day with a friend of mine in Windsor Great Park photographing deer, we were then going to do some off camera flash stuff as he had not done any before.

so we headed off to a nice pub and went back to his afterwards and We did some cross flash in his living room using his SB900 and my Jessops 360AFD.

Got some great results, though for some reason my camera would not trigger his SB900... So all shots were done on his camera .....

So I taught my mate how to use manual and how to cut down the ambient light etc... We were only using direct hard light..

I know that the jessops flash is pants for triggering off camera outside, so no surprises there..

However what did surprise me is the brightness of the nikon SB900 over the Jessops..,

It has been a good start, but for those of you looking for your first flash and a start on the strobist world, best to look elsewhere..

In the end we were shooting at 1/125 F16 and could have gone to F18 maybe.. What a big difference over the Jessops.

This was my first time using a Nikon Flash, so impressed how well it worked outside in resonably bright conditions..

Getting used to one product means a big eye opener when the chance to spend the time with something else shows that sometimes scrimping in corners does not pay off in the long run...

Just wanted to get this off my chest as clearly there is no physical comparison in the output of these two flashguns even though on paper the guide numbers are pretty close so no we can see how unreliable these are...
