Another meteorologically-related heads up. There are strong signs of a REAL heatwave to affect the bulk of the UK as we go through next week. But what may happen is that somewhere around the UK (most likely in the south east), temperatures may well reach the 90 F (33 C) mark.
Lovely if you like that kind of thing, but it'll be sheer hell for me what with me being a greenhouse worker. :bang: However, I'm hoping I may get some reprieve in the form of sea breezes what with me living next to the coast, and that should apply to most coastal areas.
Naturally, there'll also be those obligatory isolated heat-related thunderstorms which may crop up almost anywhere around the UK, but more especially inland where the heat is at its most strongest.

Although I can't stand the heat I'm looking forward to it! I work in the air conditioning industry so it will be good for business. The hotter the better!

Wants to be pal, I'm on a weeks hol.

Well, you've most certainly chosen the right week for it! You're gonna do very well out of it, but looking at your location, I won't rule out you possibly catching the odd heat-related localised thunderstorm but that would very much be the exception rather than the norm.
Now, I'll be on my work's holiday leave for three weeks starting from mid-August onwards. So, what are the chances of things turning cold, wet and windy the moment my holiday starts? Pretty high I would think knowing my luck!
I think things will get very uncomfortable for me in the coming few weeks what with me being a greenhouse worker. I won't have enough strength to press the shutter button, never mind lift my camera up by the time I'll be on holiday! :bonk:

Hope its luvverly I'm off all week as well. And...my dear wife is working (from home so I get the car) and son and heir is at school so I have a whole week to do nothing but take photographs. :woot::woot::woot:

Its RIDICULOUSLY hot down here today... :S i got stuck on a crowded bus earlier - not fun at all!! Muchos sweating going on!!

no fun in Scunny either working in a shop with no air conditioning

On the Wirral here at the moment, Ridiculously hot, stuffy, humid, muggy and ever other type of NOT nice heat.
Shame we didn't make it to the beach today though :( woulda been a nice breeze to end the evening

Yesterday was painfully hot.
Today looks like it could be the same. :(

I bloody hate hot weather.

Thanks for the heads up Mr Fish!!!

makes you laugh when people moan about having no sun and now it comes everyones moaning its too hot.

although i do like the sun i think 30C is OTT, i would like it to be about 23C max.

dont forget the sunblock for your right arm:thumbs:

loads of sun tan lotion. 30++. right arm and top of right ear especialy.
and yes, my right arm is conciderably darker than the left one. people laugh when you fold your arms.

Give me spring/autumn anytime...more bearable, less rain and some decent lighting for photography, summer is the time I take the least amount of photos

I'm off all week too laying marks for the Sonata Nationals in the bay. It is a very mixed week weather wise so far, baking on Monday, raining most of Tuesday, baking again today, who knows what tomorrow.

Out on the water it is a bit cooler but the sun is very bright and no shade.

the trouble with heat in the UK is that it is usually so humid with it, that's what makes it unbearable. I'm looking forward to visiting deserts in a few weeks to get some respite from the humidity.

Quite true trapper, quite true.

I have been fortunate to have visited several desert regions around the world, and it is indeed a different type of heat. UK is hot and beurgh....humid, deserts are hot and bl00dy well freakingly incredibly hot!!

I got stuck in a dune on a quad bike when I misjudged a sand dune slope in the Middle East, and had to walk up from the bottom of a 50 foot dune to get attention... It took me ages to get to the top and I thought I was going to die!!!

Fortunately I'm going in the middle of winter, so it won't be that bad.

A bit of an update. It's all going to break down as we go through tomorrow and Friday with thunderstorms expected to break out widely across the UK, starting off at the west of the UK and spreading eastwards to affect the rest of the UK. Then things will actually turn almost autumnal-like over the weekend with cooler temperatures, fresh winds and showery rain.
Utter relief for me what with me being a greenhouse worker! I dunno about you but I've had enough of summer already (actually, I've always hated summer). :shake: :cuckoo: :D

Not sure where you get your info but I find weather forcasts worse than useless - they rarely get it right and change their minds day to day - bit like in your posts above.

Can't be soon enough, the poor dog is really suffering here.

Thanks for the update Ian. Glad it's going to cool down somewhat.
While I don't begrudge anyone a bit of sunshine and a lovely day, it's just too hot out there.
Was coming home the other day in the car and the sun was just burning my arms as I drove, was quite painful....and that was only a few minutes exposure.

it's absolutely chucking it down here, thunder, lightning the whole shebang :)

Well. I'm taking a gamble, off to the east coast tomorrow.

What about next week?

Much more seasonal. Generally quite cool, changeable and breezy. There'lll be good sunny spells, but also there'll be spells of rain. But thankfully none of this horrible hot heat.

Went early this morning 6-30 am, just got back.

Cracking weather, Fish & Chips, Sun, Sand. A smashing day out.
