Hi,
Does anyone reccomend a Insurance company for my equipment?
I suddenlly realised I've got quite a lot sitting indoors and I think it is time to insure it.......:)

Many thanks

I use Photoguard. I haven't ever had to make a claim so I can't tell you what their service is like but I got a few recommendations on here before going with them.

It's also worth checking out what cover you get from your home insurance. My home insurance covers me for items upto £1500 when out the house but camera gear = 1 item, hence why I needed the extra cover.

Check your home insurance, if it's not already included try and get it added. If you are with a good company then it can be cheaper this way.

Another vote for Photogaurd.

One thing to watch out for is in car insurance. Some make it impossible for you to leave your equipment in the car, others put a curfew on the time the camera equipment can be in the car. Photogaurd, seem to be very reasonable on this point.

I've just recently insured my gear through Auduki. They specialise in photographic equipment and I insured 11 grands worth of kit for around 20 quid a month. :)

Auduki? Is that a typo? - can't find any info on the interweb under that name? I'm looking into insurance issues at the mo so will keep an eye on this thread.

Thanks so far......i am looking now at e&l insurance....

Spells Aaduki, I have just found it......going to explore now....

I just had a look at Aaduki as you said....
3.500 worth of equipment = £57,75 per year
Not bad I suppose........I will wait to see if any other
suggestion comes along and then go for it.....
Many thanks so far...

I got mine from Towergate, they were pretty competitive to the others I tried. They were very helpful and I covered the important questions such as in-car cover etc.

I use photoguard because they also do the level of public liability cover I wanted ie 2million where most only offered 1 million.

Photoguard let you login and chage items you have insured.. buy a new lens just log in and add to list.. all nice and easy to use.. never made a claim but everything else is bob on!
