I am wandering if there is a place that offers insurance for gear that is either imported or second hand?

some of this camera kit can be massively expensive, yet I am finding that unless you buy new and in the uk you can't get cover.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would imagine so, I just fancied getting it bespoke insured.

I insure my gear with Photoguard. I have no idea if they cover imported equipment though lol. I think I pay around £30 a month for it which seems like a lot (for a 5DmkII, three lenses, loads of filters etc), but the only time I've had to make a claim (my 24-70L lens fell off the camera as I lifted it up to my eye :(), they replaced the lens immediately after Canon confirmed it was BER, so I don't mind paying for it!

I am also interested in this. 99.99% of my gear is secondhand and 100% is imported or secondhand.

Edit: It looks like photoguard do cover secondhand.

Yes but for new kit. However as long as u have a receipt for seller used kit is fine.

haha typical, bought a load of kit cash. sold the lot and kept the 100-400 L lens. so no receipt at all
