I'm getting married on the 19th, eek! And want to take my SLR on the Honeymoon, can anyone recommend where I would insure my gear that covers abroad?

Thanks :)

Depends on the cost of equipment- I have it covered on my house insurance (personal items away from the home)

As above home insurance cover it nicely.

You need to double-check that you are covered with your home contents insurance. When I checked mine, my camera was not covered as a 'personal item taken from the house' as this apparently is for things like bicycles.

Thanks. Is there any dedicated photo insurance companies anyone could recommend?

Sorry to dig up an old thread. Thought I'd post this here for reference.

I can recommend Adrian Flux contents insurance. They're a broker and my actual policy is with Axia but they'll cover my camera worldwide for 60 days with a single item limit of £2000 (if not specified).

My premium was only £110 for the year and that obviously includes all home contents too.

When I asked them what it covered- they said anything but cash. Included cameras, golf clubs, jewels, etc etc

MoreThan cover upto £1.5k per item as standard but I upgraded mine to 2k free of charge.

Been discussed many times though 'Search' ;)
