Hi all, after reading lots of post on here and being confused by 3 hours of reading one particular post. Swapping between two courses, I managed to work out which course most people were talking about (this subject header) .

So I have just enrolled using this link http://www.inst.org/photography-courses/enroloffer.htm
And saved a bit of cash.

I have been looking for about two years on and off to better my skills and knowledge. Looked on here every day and got lots from here, youtube, Lynda.com but wanted a structured learning approach.

So I will try to keep this post updated with all I can. Hope mods don't mind me starting new post as other main one is so confusing (well to me at least, being a thick northerner) also not sure if I posted this in right section. Please move if not and sorry in advance.

Right down to details.

Ordered at 9:15 am today 06/11/2012
Order processed and approved 9:21 same day
Login details and order posted email confirmation 9:27

So seems efficient and prompt, I also emailed asking few basic questions and got reply within 90 seconds.

Regards

Quick update, ordered 9:30 am yesterday and full pack arrived just now 9:25 7/11/2012. Under 24 hours just.
On initial looks, lots and I mean lots of paper / documents .

I also got my login details yesterday, which I put to good use. Updated my profile and looked at first two modules. Initial thoughts on course, seems very well written, easy to understand and not too technical. Ideal for any level I would say, also no prior photographic knowledge is assumed by them.

Hi all, sorry for not giving an update for a few days, been busy with work and Diploma :)

Right, I have now read through first 6 modules and must say the literature is great, well written, easy to understand and produced to a high standard overall. It comes in 2 large binders for the full set of modules. Also some additional bound files, print out and documents come in the box.

I submitted my first assignment (ASSIGNMENT 1: WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?
) on Tuesday 20th Nov and got the grading back late last night 21st Nov. I got an "A" :) but the first assignment is the easiest to do. So did not have to do much apart form get my thoughts and objectives down on paper. A detailed feedback form my tutor "Mike Taylor" who seems good form what I have read on his site and emails to me.

Tutors link http://www.inst.org/photography-courses/tutors.htm

I am now starting my second assignment, (ASSIGNMENT 3: SUBMIT FOUR ACTIVITY PORTRAITS).

I have to add that I have received lots of emails form Blackford Centre for Professional Photography since signing up. There are lots of great additional articles and documents that they send you out. Helpful guides for study, industry news and support.

If you are thinking of doing a course, this is a great one to pick.

Regards
