Instant camera suggestion?

Recently I would like to try an instant camera, am torn between Fuji 210 and Fuji 90 Neo Classic.

Fuji 210 - I like the price of it as it is not too expensive and like the size of the photo, the mini one is a bit too small. But this one is bigger and I don't like the look of it.
Fuji 90 Neo Classic - I love the retro look and it has more functions and size of the camera itself is smaller. But I prefer the bigger size of the photo and the price is more or less a double of the 210.

So, I am not quite sure how to choose. May any one give me some advises which one I should get? Also the photo quality wise, which one will be better?

Those two cameras use different films, that will have more of a bearing on the final image than the cameras themselves. Pick the film (looking at emulsions available - speed & colour, availability and price as well as size of the print) and then find the camera(s) that will use it.
 
Both cameras use the same film, just different sizes IIRC.

I've had a few instax cameras.. bought on impulse before reading about them. All of them, the flash went off regardless of if they have an on/off function for it. Since reading a few reviews, that's happened to a lot of people and was the reason I sold on all of them.

Which is a shame because I really love the instax wide.... Been looking at the 90 though and I love the functions and abilities. Now if I can find some reviews that say you can definitely pick and choose when to use flash, it's bought :D

toadstool: I thought the 210 is using instant wide and the 90 uses instant mini.
If the 90 can use the wide one,think i would prefer it more,though it is more expensive.
 
The 90 can't use the wide. They both use the same film, just different sizes. The 90 uses the mini, the wide uses the... wide like you say lol. That was in reply to Alastair's post of different emulsions - the film available for these types of cameras is the same apart from the size, so both have more or less the same end result, just bigger or smaller depending on the camera used and its functions.

Although there are some cool films about for the mini - same film but different frame styles. I like the polka dot and dalmation :P
 
That's a bit like saying 135 and 120 are the same film but different sizes! Technically correct, but of no pactical relevance unless the purpose is to confuse the new guy!


I looked at the Fujifilm website, and some of the emulsions are only available in one size and not the other. As the two sizes are not interchangeable, they are to all practical intents and purposes different films. Pick the one that gives the images you want, unless the style of the camera is more important to you.
 
The only film available is instax wide or instax mini.. two different sizes of the same film. The resulting photo is more or less the same.

There aren't any different emulsions for instax. Just two sizes...Mini and Wide.

The differences are just coloured/patterened frames.

It's relevant because we are dealing with two sizes both of which are for different cameras. Emulsion is the same. There are two emulsions in both sizes IIRC.

I have the 210 and enjoy using it. The film can be found for around £13 for a pack of 20 wide angle shots. The close up adaptor that comes with it is great for close up portrait shots and self portraits.

I'm thinking about getting the new classic camera they released which takes the instax mini film. It has more functionality including double exposures and bulb mode. Neither are available on the 210 also double exposures can be hacked in.

I prefer the instax over the Polaroid purely because of the cost. But IMO they are both over priced.
