Installing GIMP Problems

I wonder if anyone could help. I am having trouble installing GIMP. I download the installer from the web then it asks me for a code via SMS text (£4 which I have done twice now) then I input the code and it instals sucessfully. Then it disappears from my PC. I cannot find it by search just the installer which I have to pay another £4 for. I am trying to create a copyright logo for photos and I have discovered you can't do it transparent on paint you need GIMP. :bonk:

??? GIMP is FREE.. where did you download it from?
 
You don't pay for gimp, it is totally free! They ask for a donation on the home page, but thats all! Sounds like youv'e been scammed to me!
Go to http://www.gimp.org/ and dowload it from there!
 
When I use those links I go back to where I downloaded from I can't waste another 4 quid. Are there alternatives to GIMP does anyone know ?
 
Theres also gimpshop and gimphoto (both free) although I haven't tried them it seems they have a better more photoshop like interface.

I don't know what you actually downloaded, but it must have been from somewhere else, if by chance. Neither the installer nor the application itself ask for money. You can donate, but that's optional.
