Inspiration for the weekend

I am looking for some ideas for what to do this weekend....

The weather looks pretty grim round here (I live on the Surrey/Hampshire border) so the usual landscape with interesting sunrise/sunset shots are out. I only have an on-board flash on my 350D so don't think I am able to try the clever dripping tap photo's which people keep posting.

I am also on call for work this weekend, so have to be within 30 mins of here.

And the need for inspiration is that me and the girlfriend are no longer together and I need something to take my mind off that otherwise I will sit at home and be a miserable wotist..

any suggestions would be good.

Well I can sort out a spot of 'intimate male waxing' in north Hamps for you, if you like ;)

I know how you feel though, Im really lacking motivation right now too, and yes the weather is grim!
Have you thought of some candids in a local shopping centre?
Its the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that will be warm, dry, well lit and buzzing with activity.
Ill watch with interest to see what other replies you get.

The nearest decent shopping centre is Reading, and thats where 2 of our members were kicked out from last year
 
You've got a decent long tele Rob ... why not take up bird watching and try and capture some of our delightful little native feathered friends ... they are all in the very best plumage of the year ready for the onset of multiplication activities so all you've gotta do is hunt 'em down ... :D

If you don't fancy the little 'uns, and you've got a lake/reservoir/river/tip near you, what about some unusual shots of ducks/geese/herons/gulls etc., ... :thinking:

you dont need a "flash" flash to do the dripping water :)

sounds interesting, I know Guildford has an ice hockey team. Will have a look when they are playing. I ahve to work on Saturday evening so hopefully it won't be then
 
Sorry to hear about your split with your g/f :( :hug:

Pop out and buy the latest copy of 'Photography Monthly' - lots of ideas in there for stuff to do at home when inspiration has left you (at least, I think it's in this months :thinking:). I tried the water droplet thing ages ago with only the built in flash and it worked ok. Alternatively, try out some ideas for the fortnightly assignment if you haven't already done so.
