Hi,

Having only recently joined the forum and being totally new to this i was wondering which reference book is best to purchase on the D3000.
I purchased mine at the week end and i am having varying degrees of success with it ?

I have seen several books but wanted to know from other peoples own experience if any which one would be best.

I am gleaning as much info as possible whilst on here in an attempt to get a decent start up package going.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
K.

When I got my Camera I brought the for dummies book for it, being new to photography I found it really handy as it told me what my camera could do and how to do.

I had a D3000 as a starter camera and the book I got was Digital Field guide: D3000. Found it to be good and explained all the controls and menu's well and also how things like aperture, shutter speed,ISO and white balance all effect a photo.

I found the digital field guide useful, had one for my D5100 and now for my D7000. Its just like a manual, except alot easier to read and information is laid out alot more clearly. It also touches on other subjects.

Got one for a friend for christmas for her D3000, and she is finding it useful.

Thanks,

Digital Field Guide it is then.
I have seen that one already as i nearly purchased a D40X second hand with one included.

Another vote for the digital field guide, found it really useful as somebody starting with their first dSLR.
