Inexpensive flash for my Canon 20D

Hi all,

Would like a flash as the inbuilt one isn't fantastic. The indoor shots I would be doing would only be snaps really so I don't need an all singing all dancing £500 flash. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive flash to get me started?

Jessops do a reasonable unit for around £60 which has swivel, bounce and built in diffuser/bounce card.

Nissin are worth a look (their top of the range Canon equivalent is around £200)......

Isnt the jessops one just a rebranded nissin anyway ?

the other option would be a second hand canon unit - i picked up a 420ex on ebay for 60 notes last year - and another one for £40 ( I use them as slaves - but they are easily capable of what the OP wants)

For me the Yongnuo 460 II is adequate for what I'm doing at the moment. I have a couple and will get another.

Jessops do a semi decent one, failing that try and get a second hand 430 or 580
