Have to agree with that, if he couldn't reverse, down what looked to be a straight road, then he really shouldn't have been driving but god knows what the woman was thinking? Would be interesting to know who did have right of way but it really doesn't excuse her behaviour.Who had right of way? If the silly old sod can't reverse, then there should be doubts that he should be behind the wheel of a car on the road anyway.

She probably couldn't reverse either, my missus can't.

But she shouldn't have to if she had right of way. I had a similar situation several years ago, a bus driver decided to overtake parked cars even though he could see well in advance I was travelling towards him with right of way. He just stopped got out of his seat claiming he wasn't allowed to reverse unaided. I was already right in the kerb, I very nearly switched off the engine and lock the car with the intention of just leaving the car there. He was a right smarmy git too. I twas only because he developed a queue of cars behind him and no one was behind me that I eventually moved. We were there a good 10 minutes or more though.Fro what I can tell, she had right of way but she could've just reversed back and saved everyone else a lot of time.
Cant see the point in that to be honest, yeah it can p!$$ you off and be annoying but why give yourself the grief, just reverse back and let him through. It was the same with the woman, ok she might have had right of way but look at the inconvenience they've caused everyone else, for what? To prove a point? Just back up and go about your business, life is far to short to waste minutes over such a trivial matter. But she shouldn't have to if she had right of way. I didn't get that bit eitherwhy she was getting more grief from the rubberneckers i do not know.
We must be about due for the priority over on coming vehicles v the right of way argumentWho had right of way?
But there are two who can back up, she shouldn't have to and effectively had a queue of cars behind her. If she did in fact have right of way, he should have backed up and if he is incapable of reversing, he doesn't fulfill the requirements to hold a license and shouldn't be driving anyway.Cant see the point in that to be honest, yeah it can p!$$ you off and be annoying but why give yourself the grief, just reverse back and let him through. But as you know there is a difference and I bet some Lawyers make a lot of money, and some insurance companies save a lot of money over it when there is a collisionEveryone knows what you mean when you use either term
When you get into a situation like that yourself rational thought goes out the window. Those p'd off people had no right to be having a go at the woman as if she was in the wrong. All it does is make matters worse and you become even more obstinate. I've noticed there seems to be an abundance of silly old farts who are incapable of driving properly now and they all seem to be driving big old silver Mercs. As @jakeblu says, why not just reverse if you are able to? Yes, he was in the wrong but to just sit there when you don't have to is being bloody minded at best. Yes, you had right of way but so what? It wasn't going to change anything and would just end up p***ing a lot of other people off unnecessarily. To quote the old saying, be the better man.

Stop using up all Steve's quotation marks.I have been in a similar situation a few times and yes, at first, I was shouting that I had right of way/priority but I've still backed down when I realised the other person wasn't going to. To let it get to 40 minutes is just ridiculous
I agree although, from what I can tell, the other driver was rather unresponsive so they may well have been trying to get her to be the better "man".

both as bad as each other.
why she was getting more grief from the rubberneckers i do not know.
She didn't cause anyone any grief. That was all down to the old fart.UnbelieveableWhy didn't someone just back up the man's car if he was unable to do so!
Personally, I think she should have stopped being a prat and took the 5 seconds to reverse and not cause so many people so much grief.
To be honest from what I could see the old guy looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. I think it was 30 mins before he would even wind down his window!UnbelieveableWhy didn't someone just back up the man's car if he was unable to do so!

Probably trying to cop a squint at her thrupnies.

We have a similar situation here, not caused by a tunnel but people parking end to end, in the road, so there is no gap to dive into to avoid on coming tragic, as its a slow right hander with hedges on the right hand side,The biggest problem with ours is the vehicles that have priority approach the tunnel from around a bend, so quite often a car has already started to enter the tunnel from the opposite direction before you become visible to them -
theres a second debate there regarding whether someone should be on the road if they cannot perform a basic part of motoring.whereas the old guy clearly wasn't capable of doing anything about it without assistance.
Of course she did.Regardless, if she was in the right or wrong, if she had have taken 5 seconds to move her car, all those people would not have been stuck in an unnecessary traffic jam.
No that just makes the pair of you as bad as the people in the video making out that she is in the wrong for being right. They could just as easily have got in their cars turned around and gone another way, but they just decided to vent their frustrations on the wrong person. They probably only picked on her as she was a woman and blonde. By the looks of it the silly old fart couldn't tell the difference from 1st and reverse anyway. Can't quite agree with that.
The old guy was in the wrong. The situation shouldn't have happened in the first place and if it did he should have been the one to back up.
And from what we see in that clip, he quite possibly shouldn't be driving.
Regardless of all that, it happened and he was clearly incapable of rectifying it.
She had it completely within her power to resolve the issue and let all those people get on with their journey - the only thing stopping her was sheer stubbornness.

Like I said, she didn't inconvenience anyone. As for the soppy blonde tart moaning about her teenage kids having to walk home from school, well she just needs a slap.Hey, don't hold back on my account, you just say what you mean
Unfortunately, my world just isn't that black and white. She may not have been at fault at the start of the incident, but her decision to do nothing to resolve it IMO makes her just as responsible for how the situation developed as he was.
And no, it has nothing at all to do with her being blonde or female
I simply can't comprehend how stubbornly proving a point over something that insignificant is more important than inconveniencing myself and dozens of other people for 40 minutes or more.
The old guy may have been the one to move in the end, but seems like a pretty hollow victory to me.
