Okay, so it's not going to win many awards for flexibility or output power, but what a great little unit!

Shooting at the weekend with low (white) ceilings and using it for a bit of fill every now and then and I was very impressed.

Just shows, even the more 'modest' kit is really quite something these days - I'll be getting one to act as a backup to my more powerful gun I think!

I have been looking to get a second one of these for just that use. So it's good to hear it's up to the job.

270EX is an under-rated little gun. If you compare spec for like spec, it's only 0.6 stops less powerful than a 430EX, and between two and three stops brighter than the average pop-up, which enough for most things like a bit of ceiling bounce. It also has high speed sync mode, so good for daylight fill-in too. You can get a Stofen-style diffuser cap for it as well, got mine for a few quid off Amazon

Best of all, it is so small - shirt pocket small - and cheap, if you can still get one. 270EX Mk2 is much more expensive, though has a few more tricks like remote E-TTL slave.
