I note that, all of a sudden, every time the word 'camera' appears in a post, it also appears in blue and is a link to WEX. Am I right to presume this is deliberate as part of forum funding? Not a problem, just checking I haven't turned something on by mistake.

Strangely, having edited this post, the blue highlighting -- that was there a moment ago -- has now disappeared.

Re-edit: Scottishguy informs me that it has indeed gone blue again.

Still blue and takes you to their site when you click it.
 
Yes, I spotted this hyperlink in an OP by a new member. If it is raise funding by affiliate linking why is it a 'dumb' hyper link with only the WEX website and no obvious code in the linky :thinking:

It is something we implemented recently. People who venture outside of the Lounge and HT may have worked out that that it is not "every time" ;)

And yes, we get a small commission from purchases made through those links

:( Hey, unfair. I'm almost never in the lounge and I am deliberately not on the HT list for access. I merely mentioned it because I saw it. I'm not moaning, I think it is a good idea. I used 'every time' because it seemed to appear every time, I obviously did not trawl through every post to see if there were occasions when it didn't come up.

Edit: Since writing the above I have checked at least six different forums and it actually DOES happen 'every time'. I haven't checked all threads because I really couldn't be bothered as it is not important. Better this than hoards of banner adverts.

In general, this is one of the best forums I have ever been on, and I've been on a quite a few, so any method designed to keep it going is fine by me.
