In need of help.....

Ok quick introduction.

Im Robert, from Glasgow....I just purchased my first DSLR yesterday looking to learn as much as I can.

Currently I am not very good at takinng pics, been using various camera's before digital camera, bridge camera now onto the DSLR.

I think i have a good eye for taking pictures, but they never turn out the way I want them to (as in ever)

I just got myself a Sony A230 with 18mm-55mm lens but I think i want to upgrade asap.

I specifically purchased the camera for a business purpore, but really wanting to use it for a lot more. Im not interested in taking portraits etc, but very much into landscapes, buildings, night pics and wanting to look into Astro (hope thats the terminology)

welcome robert,
i know absolutely zip about sony cameras, but it might help if you posted up some pics and said what you think is lacking.

its not always about kit, as the thread on £15 plastic pinhole cams will show, but a lot about visualisation and being in the right place/time as well.

you will see its not all about kit.
