Has anyone bought an in-car charger compatible with Canon BP-511A? If so, what make and where did you get it from?

Thanks Gillian

I bought a "generic" one of ebay for £10, comes with mains & car adaptors. Been using it for 6 months & it's not killed any batteries (yet)

Thanks for the information and links guys, I will go and take a look.

Gilly, I sell Sterlingtek travel chargers that come complete with an in-car charger cable and can also be used as mains chargers.

They are just £14 including delivery or less if bought with batteries or any other items I have for sale here.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,
William

I had a catalog from dabs.com earlier in the year which featured a product that gave you a 13amp 3 pin socket from your cigarette lighter. May be worth looking out for as that will enable you to charge your camera, your phone and even do your hair as well

Thanks, I will read about it and let you know.

Personally i have a 12v dc invertor i use for my laptop when i stay away in the tent ( have a huge lesuire 12v battery) then i use the canon charger.

it might be worth getting an inverter. basically turns your fag lighter into a 3 pin socket. They are about £15 in Maplins, and you can run most low wattage items off them. It says in the manual that you cant run cookers, washing machines or dishwashers off them. So dont carry around your washing machine in the back of the car thinking you can wash your socks on 90 degrees :) LOL

although there is something daft about buying something to turn your DC car into AC to then be turned back into DC for your charger :)
