in agony any ideas

point 1 go to the doctors now

point 2 even GP's are available 27/7 just ring the surgery - you might be redirected to another service but they will have a service.

So that's how come my Doctor drives a brand new Aston every 6 months...

he charges 27 hours a day!

and they say going to Uni is a waste of time.....

This is so rude of me, to laugh while another member is in agony, but your comment cracked me up; especially as I was going to suggest that he may only be badly constipated :shrugs:!

i went to the docs, and.... he is fairly certain its a kidney stone whatever that is, i googled it and lots of different kinds of stones, gall stones crystal stones all sorts, anyway he sent a sample off to be sure and put me on pain killers, which only half work, and antibiotics? so its sorted

Hope it's something that you can get over with the need for surgery. Either way, sorry I laughed at the suggestion that you may have exploded :).

no need i thought it was hilarious :P cheered me up and i feel like im about to explode lol

ive never had one before but it feels like im being kidney punched at the moment

Don't want to worry you (but then again;))

My father had a kidney stone which passed naturaly, it was the size / shape / texture of a large dry roasted peanut. He said it was the most pain he had ever experienced.

you do know where they come out ?????:shake:

yes... i have been told by the doc... im hoping hes wrong... im hoping it breaks up. im hoping i can go for vibrations. to break it up.

i can imagine it being akin to giving birth

There'll probably be a mix-up, first.

Drink lots and lots and lots of water.

Not at all! As a matter of fact, low water intake is a major cause of kidney stones ... I know this from my country (Saudi Arabia) where a majority of the adult population suffer from this due to insufficient water intake plus the extreme heat.

Also, water help passing urine, which will help pass whatever else comes along.

Avoid things like alcohol, not good on the kidneys .. even beer is not advisable, even though it makes one urinate a lot.

Ops!

ive been googling kidney stone and they look spikey, sharp and massive :S how can that pass out is beyond me :(

That reminds me.........

One day there was an Indian chief who was constipated. he sent one of his warriors to the witch doctor to get some medicine. The warrior says “Big Chief, no s***”. the doctor gave him 1 pill and told him that the chief should be fine tomorrow.

The warrior went back to the chief and gave him the pill. the next morning the warrior was sent back to the witch doctor and says “big chief, no s***”. the doctor gives him five pills and tells him to give them to the chief.

The next day the warrior appears at the witch doctor’s house yet again saying “big chief, no s***”. the doctor gets annoyed and so gives the warrior the whole bottle of pills to give to the chief.

The next day the warrior goes back to the witch doctor (AGAIN):

“Big s***, no chief”.

You could go for a drive and wait until you get a traffic polis car behind you with it's lights on - best laxative know to man...;)

the only problem is... im not constipated i might have a kidney stone..

I heard that treatment for that was relatively painless. They use ultrasound or something to break it apart. Is that right?

Something like that

I'm not sure if I thought I had a kidney stone I'd be on a photo forum asking for advice though..............

Aye, but we all know by now that Ashers isn't the most ordinary of people. :D

That's one form of treatment, but it is far from painless. When these small granules pass they do hurt, burn, and scratch their way through. It's bloody painful.

An alternative form of treatment is to have them removed by surgery. Not sure when this would be applied, but it is the old method used.

i thought it was gallstones that you peed out

No it is Kidney stones.

I passed just 1 of them and it is excrutiating pain. Never had any pain before the episode though. Just felt like I needed to pee a lot.

I had them identified by ultrasound and blasted by lithotripsy.

Had minor pains for a couple of weeks after passing the fragments that had not been blasted to small pieces but that was explained at the time to me so knew what would happen.

I understand the pain you are in and wish you a speedy recovery.
