Hi, In an earlier post I was asking about the Nikon D80 as I was considering buying one. However I was just window shopping at my local LCE and spotted a used Nikon D200 for £399. I only went in for a look at it (honestly) and came out with it in a bag. Not sure if the price was OTT? It comes with a 6 month warranty and only has a shutter count of 7800, thoughts anyone?

Sounds like a decent price for a good camera. Not used one, but they are not the best at higher ISOs I believe but a solid piece of kit.

Lots of people still using D200's and quite pleased with them. They may be "yesterday's technology" but if you look around, you can find endless examples of superb photos taken with the D200. Congratulations, you've gotten yourself a well-built camera!

A friend of mine is a part time model and she recently sent me the results of her last shoot, she looked very very good... and the camera was...

Decent price for a low mileage camera from a dealer

As others have said it's old technology and not great much over about 800 iso, but other than that it's fantastic camera, especially for that money :)

Technically everyone here is using "yesterdays technology"

As a member of a camera club I have never told anyone what I use, that way you can never be badged as having an old camera, its what you shoot and how it ends ujp that matters.

1st place went to a superb and I mean superb shot last week, with D300

No idea what you guys are on about it being useless over ISO800, my D100, is great at ISO1000, i'd expected the D200 to be able to match that easily.

Impulse buys are always the best :) Nice camera that 200, never owned one but seriously thought about it and a mate had one and was chuffed to bits with it so you could have chosen worse!

Good camera I had one, only downside is they are rather heavy in the battery usage dept

Get a couple of spare batteries for a days shoot
