So, for some reason, me and the mrs are gonna pack up the car with our camping gear and head for Kent (somewhere near Lydd / Dungeoness) tomorrow afternoon in the hope we find a campsite and camp overnight.

Anyone know of anything interesting to do round there or to photograph?

We'll literally camp that night, pack up the next day and spend the day there before heading back to Bedford (Near Luton for those not in the know) late in the day :)

We spent last Sunday afternoon walking the dogs on Dungeness beach and photographing the old boat carcasses and the flotsam and jetsam.

So there's the beach and the cute Romney Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway to travel on.

As for camping out, the traditional TP trip to Dungeness involved sleeping in your car to photograph the sunset and sunrise and - as required by law! - eating fish and chips at The Pilot pub!

Dungeness itself is flippin' AWESOME. (and the only place in the UK officially designated as a desert I believe). Also, and not sure on the timing, there's St Leonards church in Hyth, which is one of only 2 churches in the UK to have an ossuary....and is fascinating.

Brilliant, I have to admit I was leaning toward the boats etc on Dungeoness beach so that's a plus, not sure I fancy the sleeping in the car lark though :cuckoo::cuckoo: I'm not averse to camping but my days of kipping in cars are long gone lol.

Ill check out the steam train and that church too.

She's working tonight on a 12 hour shift so when she comes home and gets a few hours kip we'll be making a move :)

Cheers all, had a great day and a half, not actually had a chance to download the few pictures I took in the end.

It was just a one nighter and we didnt have as much time as we thought we'd have espeically as the M25 was atrocious near Potters Bar plus someone broke down on the dartford bridge crossing. All this on top of the fact the mrs had only had a couple of hours sleep after doing her night shift.

But we enjoyed Dungeness, pretty eerie kinda place, I could spend days there Im sure!
