I had the same problem with my D700 RAW files but since moving to my Canon 5D MkIII the issue is even more noticeable.
When shooting with the 5D MkIII I have the in-camera profile set to Portrait to give a nice look to my RAW images on the LCD on the back of the camera. However, when I import the CR2 files in to Bridge and load up the thumbnail views I usually get a split second view of the nice colourful & contrasty look then the image goes a lot flatter as the cameras profile is lost.
When opening the files in ACR for editing I have the profile set to camera portrait but is this just a generic camera portrait mode or is it reading the specific portrait profile from the 5D MkIII RAW file?
Basically what I want to know is how I import images in to Bridge and retain the same look as I see on the back of camera.
