Image use on Flickr

Advice please.

I have recieved a mesaage on Flickr asking to use on of my images on a website. I have had a look at the website and in my personal opinion the website doesn't really look that professional.

A couple of years ago, when i was new to photography, i had requests for photo use and i let them be used. My photograhy skills and kit has since improved / progressed and i am wondering what to do!

I think say it can be used but ask for a payment (even though i haven't got a clue what to ask for:shrug, this would be nice to help build a small fund for new kit. I think that they would say they couldn't pay and just find other pictures from people willing to say 'yes' for free.

If it doesn't look like a decent sight then just weigh up how much money you'd want for them to display your work on it and ask for that.

If they knock you back then no harm done as it wasn't a decent site anyways.

The website in question stands out from the crowd, as they did ask in the first place, so a lot more professional than most.

Thanks for the replies and the PM. I sent a nice polite mail back saying that i do not allow free use of my photographs but if they would still like to use then tell me at what size and i can submit a price.

As you say i have not lost anything by asking, looking back at the website today there is an image where they requested to use mine, i guess someone didn't want to charge.
