Image size? (ppi)

Hi,

can anyone help me with this! I have a sony a350 so it takes 14.2megapixels photos. But on the screen it says the photos are 18.9" x 12.5". ISN'T THAT A BIT SMALL! (the computer says the photos are 240ppi) (Taken in RAW). But then if i took a photo in JPEG they will come up as 74ppi and 42.4" x 63.8". How can I make my RAW photos become 72ppi and also become as big as the JPEG files?

The ppi of your images is of no relevance until you are printing them. At that point, your choice of resolution will determine how big the print is.

Up to that point, all images can be measured as x pixels wide by y pixels high, and altering the ppi will not change that.
