Hi, I have someone who wants to purchase a photo from my website as a canvas, the one on my site is a compressed jpeg , I want to re-do the RAW file in order to get the best results ,could anyone please advise what settings I would be best saving as in lightroom,i gtried Tiff but its to big to upload for my website ,any help would be appreciated. Thanks

So are you producing the canvas for them, i.e. printing it or just creating a new file from the raw to send them and you just want to know what's the best format to send them to give the best quality to print.

Just go with a .jpg - canvases are a very forgiving medium. Don't resize the image on export and use a suitable amount of compression to achieve an acceptable file size.

Hi,they purchased a 10x8 print and then decided to purchase a canvas....I can do both send a file for them or let them purchase from my website,i just want to process the original CR2 ....and save at the best quality possible ....and dots per inch size etc.....

Just depends how big the original file is with regards to pixel size.

Origanal file size is CR2 5184x3456=17.92 MP

5184 pixels x 3456 pixels would produce a print 17.3 inches x 11.5 inches at 300 dpi.

5183 / 300 = 17.3
3456 / 300 = 11.5

Are you happy to give them the image and happy from them to continue to use the image they've purchased post sale. Personally I would cost the price to print a canvas, add a mark up and offer to sell them that rather than giving them a image file. There's loads of online website that offer this service, I've used point101 and can highly recommend them, you pay a bit extra, but the quality of the frame and canvas is excellent.

As for file format, jpeg is probably the best and widest format to use when printing a image.

Thanks for the info...they can purchase it from my website ,I was just concerned the image in the gallery was big enough ,,,,,looks like they can purchase the canvas because if it is to small my web site software tell them if it is large enough ...hope that makes sense..
