Hi,

As I understand things, If I've got a cropped image at say 2000 x 1333px at 300ppi, theoretically I can print an image say 18cm x 12cm (give or take).

Reading around on the web, without resorting to specialised software (Genuine Fractals etc), the suggested way to get a larger print size is to increase the document size in 5 to 10 per cent increments until the required size is achieved.

Just wondered if anyone had used this method to obtain large prints and if there is any rule of thumb limit as to how much you can increase by?

Thanks

Hi
I have read that increasing gradually is a way of increasing total print size ( Scott Kelby, I think) with a better end result but why not lower the ppi to around 240 and get an even bigger size? Don't forget, the bigger the print the further back you will view. I think some people even say a 150 ppi print is more than adequate.
