Just wondering if there is anything out there free/to buy that will crop my pictures into the correct size I require for printing?

I have lightroom on my iMac but have PS on my laptop and I currently have to jump between the 2 if i need to resize for print

dont really want to get PS on both machines as I tend to just use lightroom these days

I currently resize by creating a new canvas the size i require then paste my images onto the top pf it and transform to the correct size

I know there is something for XP out there for doing this easily just wondered if there was anything for a mac

thanks in advance

Not sure I understand the problem.

Can't you just crop to the aspect ratio you want in LR and either print from there or export files for printing elsewhere?

Ive messed around with the crop in lightroom but i may sound really thick here but when you say crop to the aspect ratio?

I understand the images are cropped by the camera etc to a set ratio but for example im trying to get a 10x10 image do i just crop the image square in LR?

is there a way of seeing exactly the size you have cropped?

hope you understand this

thanks

In LR 2.4 (my Version)

Go develop module, select the crop tool.

In the crop module underneath where it says crop & straighten there is a padlock with the some numbers. click the little arrows next to the numbers and this brings up a dialog box. enter your preferred crop size, remember width first.

Click ok and your crop ratio will appear on your photo. Now move the crop around to suit your photo, press enter and bob's your uncle.

Then when you export the photo to wherever you can set the export size to match your photo.
