Image Release forms

Hi all

Does anyone have an image release form or wording that I could use, that will allow my customer to use my images for their own use, eg, promoting themselves, but protects me should they wish to sell it ?

Any advice greatfully received

have you tried googling it, there's plenty of templates about you could modify for your own use that already has some sort of wording set up for you? I need to do the same, i have one for weddings, but not for the type of use you mention, but i do need it. If I get a chance to search later and find something, i'll post up a link, if you cant wait, just go for it yourself Rich

A great source for stuff like this, is the book "Beyond the Lens" published by the AoP. It has an appendices with model release forms, licenses etc. Well worth buying as it's also a valuable book for anyone thinking of going pro.

What you want is on page 181

I'd say something like

The images (list or give CD ref) are licenced to [client] for use for the purposes of x, y, z on a [non exclusive / exclusive - delete as applicable] basis , this licence does not grant permission for sale of prints or resale of image files, and copyright remains the property of [photographer]
