Image organisation

Not sure where this should go. I have up until now been using iPhoto/Aperture to store and organise my images as well as having a back up on a hard drive. Recently though i have noticed its been getting cluttered and rather annoying to organise.
Is there a better way to do this such as say Bridge Cs6 which i already have but have never used.
What do you use?

Personally I organise manually - im sure i could do it more efficiently via LR or iPhoto but i've just got used to it. I have lots of header folders set up i.e. Portraits, Landscape, Studio etc. Then for each set I import ill create a dated folder and sub folders within.... so the structure generally looks like this......

>Portraits
130309_Models Name >
01 RAW
02 Chosen
03 Edit high res
04 Edit web use

Once i have populated my 'Chosen' folder ill import to LR for editing and then export the edits into the 'Edit high res' folder. If needed ill take them into PS too. From the High res edits ill import to iPhoto so only my chosen and edited imaged will sync to my photo stream, finally ill choose any i want to post online and apply a watermark and lower the quality & resolution and save to the 'web use' folder.
