image editor

just bought a mac book pro retina and am looking to buy a picture editor for it i have elements 9 on my laptop . i was looking at aperture 3 but have heard it crashes a lot ?? can any one with aperture enlighten me to if its any good or what else to use

i have a iMac and use aperture 3 and elements 9 and its never crashed on me. i tried both lightroom and aperture before i bought them both have 30 trails
