Morning,

Just been asked for a price for two images that I snapped at the weekend for use on a website

its from the company who make the team kits, waiting to hear back on the exact usage but think it will just go in the gallery on there site

I have a prints price list which i use but not thought anything up for web use only (without copyright)

what is the normal rate for such images (800 px longest side)

£5 per image? £10 per image?
 
Commercial use is totally different to editorial use and at £5 a photo you are underselling your pictures and devaluing the industry
 
hmmm, not thought about it in that way, what would the rough going rate be in that case?

The alamy calculator would be good to use although you need to know exactly what's it for and what size
 
wow, thanks for that, hadn't realised they were worth as much, will pass on that info and see how it goes
 
Or you could do a trade, if they make kits, can they make you some T shirts and jackets with your name on :shrug:

But we all really know those rates are total pie in the sky and dont even include VAT or so called production charges, i very much doubt that any online company bar the biggest multi nationals would pay such rates.

Take what you can get and dont be greedy, i had the exact same situation with a kit supplier and priced myself out of the Market and i was nowhere near those advertised rates, the kit supplier just did the shots themselves for a fraction of the cost.
 
I must admit I was shocked when I seen some

had a couple of emails bounce back and forth since my last post

We have agreed on some kit, mainly waterproof just incase lol and I will also get my t shirts etc from them later on

They would like me to cover a game or two next season aswell when new kits are released which is good, they were impressed with the weekends pictures. I think it helps that the owner of the companys son scored the second goal at the weekend which i caught :D
 
Job done, better than feeling undervalued or missing out on overpricing ;)
 
Yeah definitely, will make me happier at games knowing I am dry if its raining to :D
