Not sure how to resolve this issue, but if you look at the photo in the link below

On my Imac this show a perfect white back ground even on viewing in the Safari...

but my laptop screen shows a completely different result with the white's not so good(in fact very bad).....how can I fix my Imac screen to see this fault so I can correct in PP...(I hope this is not going to be a £200 screen calibrator...something close to what I'm seeing would be acceptable)

cheers

Dan

Just to confirm I have run through the Imac screen calibration to make sure I have the correct setting based on viewing the Apple logo, I have also had a play with the brightness with no affect..

cheers

Do you use Lightroom? Just press J to view the clipping mask which will show all pure white areas with a red overlay.

laptop screens arent ideal for image viewing, what with viewing angles changing image perception etc. ideally youd need to calibrate both displays to ensure theyre both the same.

Kind of agree but I would think most people in a house-hold now use laptops or tablets to sit and view the web...So I kind of need to match the overall screen output from a bog-standard laptop screen as close as possible.

My IMac screen shows this as way off....

The clipping mask option (from "iamchrisphoto") seem to be helping so thank you for the tip...

i dont get why you think the mac is wrong. youll never account for everyones screens being uncalibrated viewing your images, the only thing you can do is calibrate your main screen and save to web as sRGB.

i'll check it later on a calibrated screen but it looks pretty close to white on my cruddy work screens.
