Hi guys :) Just about to order a monitor calibrator for my 20" iMAC, and wondered, does anyone have any experience with the Pantone Huey? Looks good, and has had good reviews, but just wondered if there any other alternatives that are better?

I've read someone that iMAC's are a bit of a pain to calibrate, is this true?

I use an Eye-One to calibrate mine, and it's VERY easy to calibrate an iMac.

Eye One is a good device and so is the Spyder 3 range. Not tried the Huey but several users on here have it and it seems to work well. If in doubt have a chat to Colour Confidence in Birmingham as they supply all 3 and can give you some advice,

I find that even with the eye one my imac is still a tad too contrasty and bright.

even if you go into the settings and turn the contrast and brightness down to the minimum.

Download a trial version of ColorEyes Display Pro. It works with the i-one and does a much better job of calibrating the iMac screen.

I found that although you can leave it to set the brightness and white point correctly I found that if you used the settings in System Prefs to get it near the correct starting point it made that extra difference.

Beware it's not cheap though
