iMac - I'm in iLove

I just switched from pc to a macbook pro...I love the thing, so much faster and smoother. As far as the interface is concerned, I'm still weening in a bit, but I think in general it's more intuitive...now if I can just learn the damn shortcut keys...

I assume your PC was a bit older, which is probably why it will seem faster. Had you upgraded to a newer PC it probably would have seemed faster and smoother.

I will never touch a Mac ever again. :bang:

I just purchased a 24" i Mac with 500GB. Went for the cordless keyboard and mouse. Got CS3 installed with Appleworks and im' well happy.

Mine arrived yesterday. I've never had a mac before so I was up till the early hours last night setting it up, etc.

So far, so good.....it's a thing of beauty and seems straightforward enough to use.

I will start the long, tedious task of transferring all my Photos and Music over this weekend, although the librarian aspect of my personality actually quite likes this ;)

I did sign for it along with three other parcels that day and the consignment number was exactly as expected. I arranged the collection of a £90 VDU on that collection/consignment number. I never received the VDU so as far as they can see there is no problem but these things have a habit of coming back to haunt.

I filled in a delivery/dispute form straight away but they just don't care.

Another month and I feel I will have done everything possible to return it, after that I might just let it go.

Veracocha - Don't give in. The key is to get an individuals name and direct phone number and phone them twice a day (not once a day) until its sorted. Keep a record of your time and the calls / conversation and bill them for your time. It works because people just want a quite life.

I had a similar issue with DHL and it soon got sorted through this aproach - and with compensation for wasted time.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just don't have the time to chase for a resolution. I have a signed copy of their delivery and a proof of delivery dispute form so I really will just sit back and wait.

I am tempted to connect it all up for a look, for all I know it could have been a return to supplier because it was faulty :(

Fair point, but I had both an old PC and a new PC - the new one (a few months old) started to slow noticeably after loading a few minor applications. And I'm not talking about anything tying up a significant amount of RAM.

Still happy with the Mac - the real test is in a year or two when I'm ready for the next one........
