Hi I own a Nikon D40 and wish to buy a 55-200mm VR lens.

At Nikon UK's website they list two 55-200mm lenses, one is VR and one isnt, here are the exact descriptions:

55-200mm f/4-5.6 AF-S VR DX NIKKOR
55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX NIKKOR

Notice that there is no 'G' in the description of the VR one.

Now the product at these links is listed as a 'VR' but also 'G' in the description.

Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6 G AF-S DX VR IF-ED Lens

Nikon 55-200MM F4.5-5.6G AF-S VR DX Black Lens

The following site has the correct description, but when you zoom into the picture of the product you can see it has 'G' & 'ED' written on the casing, which suggests it's not even a VR lens.

Totally confused so please point me in the right direction..

(edit.. just looked at the photo again at parkcameras and it has 'VR' in Red on the casing also, just doesnt make sense)

Ok that makes sense and Ken Rockwell's descriptions clarify. Thank you :)
